Billing Contacts - User Guide
Assign dedicated billing contacts to customers and streamline your invoicing workflow in ServiceBox.
ServiceBox allows you to designate specific contacts as billing contacts for a customer. This helps streamline invoicing by allowing users to select a “Bill To” contact when generating invoices from work orders.
Step 1: Request Feature Activation
To begin using the billing contact feature:

Contact the ServiceBox support team and request that they activate the Billing Contact feature for your subdomain.

Once activated, you will see a new column called Billing Contact in your settings under Customer > Contact Types.
Step 2: Set Up a Billing Contact Type

Navigate to Settings > Customer > Contact Types.

Click Add to create a new contact type.

Ensure the contact type is set to:

Active
-
Billing Contact (toggle enabled)

Step 3: Assign a Billing Contact to a Customer

Open the customer profile.

Navigate to the Contacts tab.

Select the desired contact from the list.

A panel will appear on the right.

From the list of contact types, choose the Billing Contact type you just created.

Click Save.
✅ You can assign multiple billing contacts to a customer, if needed.
Step 4: Create an Invoice with a Billing Contact
When creating an invoice from a work order for a customer with assigned billing contacts:

A dropdown will appear allowing you to select a Bill To contact.

Choose the appropriate billing contact from the list.
Step 5: View the Billing Contact on Printed Invoice
The selected billing contact will appear in the Bill To section on the printed invoice, as shown in the example screenshot.
