ServiceBox is designed to facilitate field service management efficiently. However, it is important to note that ServiceBox is not intended to hold funds or manage a chart of accounts. The primary function of ServiceBox is to streamline service operations, leaving the management of financial transactions to your accounting software.
### **How Credit Card Payments Are Processed**
Credit card payments processed through ServiceBox are directly routed to your accounting software. Think of your accounting software as the cash register that securely holds your money. This design ensures that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and managed within a single system, providing a clear and organized financial overview.
### **Setting Up Payment Processing with Stripe**
When you set up payment processing with Stripe, the process involves a micro deposit issued by Stripe to your banking account. This banking account is linked to your accounting software, not ServiceBox. The reason behind this setup is that ServiceBox does not directly link to any bank accounts. Instead, it integrates seamlessly with your accounting software to manage all financial transactions, ensuring both accuracy and security.
### **Testing Payment Transfer Functionality**
To ensure that the integration is working correctly, many of our clients opt to test the payment transfer functionality. This can be done by creating a fake or test invoice for a nominal amount, such as one dollar. This test helps verify that the payment is processed successfully in the accounting software. I highly recommend conducting this test to ensure that everything is set up correctly and functioning as expected.
