Copying Quote Materials to Work Orders

This article explains how to enable and configure the setting that allows materials from a quote to be copied directly into a work order.

Summary

We’ve added the ability to move quote items into the associated work order. This helps save time by eliminating the need for techs to re-enter materials manually.

How to Configure This Setting

To enable this setting:

  1. Go to Settings → Quote

  2. Check the box labeled "Copy materials when creating Work Order"

Once enabled, the system will copy quote items to the work order using the following rules:

  • This will import materials for Quote Categories that are not set as Labor type in the invoice.
  • This will only copy over items that have Quote Categories linked to Invoice Categories.

  • The Invoice Category has to be set that it will appear in the Work Order.
