Does a Recurring Work Order automatically get added to the scheduler for the appropriate day? - FAQ 0008
Understanding how to control when and how recurring work orders are scheduled in ServiceBox
Automatic vs. Manual Scheduling
Yes—Recurring Work Orders can automatically be added to the Scheduler if you choose to enable that option during setup.
When configuring a Recurring Work Order, you can decide whether or not it should be scheduled for a specific day and time.
How to Automatically Add to the Scheduler
To have the work order appear directly on the Scheduler:
-
Select the “Schedule Work Order” option when creating your recurring work.
-
Choose the frequency (e.g., daily, weekly).
-
Set a time window (e.g., 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM).
Example:
If you set the recurrence to weekly on Mondays from 8–10 AM, the work order will appear in the calendar at that time each week.
If You Don’t Use “Schedule Work Order”
If you leave “Schedule Work Order” unchecked:
-
The system will still generate the recurring work orders.
-
But instead of appearing on the calendar, they will go into the unscheduled work order list in the Dispatcher view.
-
From there, you can assign them manually to technicians.
Tip: Add a Status for Maintenance
To help distinguish maintenance jobs in the Dispatcher view, you can create a custom Work Order Status called something like “Recurring Maintenance.” This makes it easier to identify and prioritize those work orders.
