Error syncing invoice: Sequence contains more than one matching element - QuickBooks Online

Introduction

Syncing data between ServiceBox and QuickBooks Online (QBO) is essential for maintaining accurate financial records. However, conflicts can occasionally occur during the syncing process. This guide outlines steps to resolve such conflicts if you receive the following error message:

"Error syncing invoice: Sequence contains more than one matching element"

Understanding the error:

The error "Sequence contains more than one matching element" typically occurs when there are duplicate records or multiple instances of a particular element that the ServiceBox connector is trying to sync over to QuickBooks Online.

For example, in the screen print below, you will notice duplicate tax levels entered under ServiceBox > Settings > Taxes.

Resolution

To correct the error, simply delete the duplicate entry in your ServiceBox settings (such as the tax level or any other duplicated element identified).

Resync Invoices

After making the necessary adjustments:

  1. Go back to the invoice section in ServiceBox.

  2. Attempt to sync the invoice(s) again to QuickBooks Online.

  3. Confirm that the error no longer appears during the syncing process.
