Global Check Ins and Reporting on Employee activity - User Guide

ServiceBox includes a “General Check In” feature that functions like an in/out board, allowing users to check in and out daily. This article explains how to activate the feature and generate a weekly report using the User Check In Report.

Introduction

ServiceBox offers a General Check In and Check Out feature designed for businesses that want a simple way to track user attendance without relying on work order timesheets. This is especially useful for administrators who want to monitor staff check-ins throughout the day using an in-and-out board.

This article will walk you through how to:

  • Enable the General Check In feature

  • Use the Check In and Check Out buttons

  • Generate a weekly report showing user activity

 

Step 1: Enabling General Check Ins

To turn on this feature:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Features

  2. Locate the General Check Ins setting

  3. Check the box and click OK to save

After enabling, a new check-in section will appear on the dashboard for all users.

 

After this is done, on the dashboard you will see the following which is essentially the in and out board for the company:

 

Step 2: Using the Check In / Check Out Board

Once the feature is enabled, users will see Check In and Check Out buttons on their Home screen.

Admins will also see a centralized view of who is currently checked in or out—acting as a live in/out board for the company.

This tool is helpful for companies that want to track attendance but don't want to rely on work order data.

 

Step 3: Viewing Weekly Activity – User Check In Report

To view check in/out data over a time period:

  1. Navigate to the Reporting section

  2. Select User Check In Report from the list

 

Once you have opened up the User Check in Report you will see the following screen:

 

3. Choose the Start Date and End Date for your reporting period

4. Click Generate

The generated report will include:

  • User Name

  • Check In Time

  • Check Out Time

  • Date of Activity

This helps businesses validate hours worked or ensure that staff are adhering to expected schedules.
