How to Edit Quotes - FAQ
If you're unable to edit a quote, check its status—only quotes in Draft status can be edited by default in ServiceBox.
Why You May Not Be Able to Edit a Quote in ServiceBox
If you're having trouble editing a quote in ServiceBox, the first thing to check is the quote status. By default, only quotes with the status set to Draft are editable. Any other status—such as Submitted, Awarded, or Rejected (names may vary by company)—will lock the quote for editing.
Here's what to check:
-
Navigate to your quote and review its current status.
-
If the quote is not in Draft, that’s likely why you can’t make changes.
Confirm the setting:
Go to:
Settings → Quotes → Settings
There, you’ll find that only the Draft status typically has recalculations and editing enabled. Most other statuses are set to "Yes" under the No Recalculations column, which disables editing.
Can I change this?
Yes, these settings can be customized. However, best practice is to only allow recalculations and editing while the quote is in Draft. This helps avoid unintentional changes after quotes have been submitted or approved.
