How to Use the Auto-Generated Account Number Feature in ServiceBox
ServiceBox has released a feature that automatically generates account numbers for new customers, improving organization and consistency. This guide explains how to activate and configure this feature.
Introduction
ServiceBox now allows users to automatically generate customer account numbers starting from a preset number. This feature also provides options to display the account number on Quotes, Work Orders, and Invoices for easier tracking.
1. Feature Overview
Auto-Generation of Account Numbers
When enabled, ServiceBox will assign a unique account number to each new customer based on your defined starting number. This value is auto-incremented and saved in the Account Number field in the customer form.
Display Options for Account Numbers
You can choose to display the customer’s account number on the following documents:

Quotes
-
Work Orders
-
Invoices
This makes it easy to reference and track account numbers across your documents.
2. Configuring Account Number Settings
Once the feature is active:

Go to Settings

Under Customer, click Settings
-
Check the box labeled Automatically Set Customer Account Number

Enter the number you want the system to begin counting from (e.g., 1000)

3. Displaying Account Numbers on Documents
To show the account number on Quotes, Work Orders, or Invoices:

In the same Customer Settings area, check the appropriate display boxes

If these display options are not visible, contact support to enable them
