How to Complete PCI Compliance for ServiceBox Payments (Paysafe)

If you use ServiceBox Payments powered by Paysafe, you must complete your annual PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliance validation.

This guide walks you through the PCI Compliance Portal and provides the recommended answers for merchants using the ServiceBox + Paysafe payment integration.

Important: These instructions apply to merchants processing payments through the Paysafe API integration used by ServiceBox.


Before You Begin

After your merchant account is activated, Paysafe will send you an email containing:

  • Your PCI Compliance Portal login information
  • Your Merchant ID (used as your username)
  • A link to create your password

First Login

  1. Open the PCI Compliance Portal from the email.
  2. Log in using your Merchant ID.
  3. Create your password.
  4. Review and update your contact information if necessary.

 

Step 1: Start Your PCI Compliance Assessment

When you first enter the portal, you'll be guided through a business profile questionnaire.

The portal uses your answers to determine which PCI requirements apply to your business.


Step 2: Acknowledge PCI DSS 4.0.1

The PCI standard has been updated from version 3.2.1 to version 4.0.1.

  1. Review the information provided.
  2. Check "I Understand".
  3. Click Next.


Step 3: Choose an Assessment Method

You will be presented with three options:

Recommended Option: Guide Me

Select Guide Me.

This option walks you through the PCI requirements and automatically determines the appropriate assessment for your business.

Other Options

  • Expert – For users who already know their PCI assessment type.
  • Upload – If you've already completed PCI compliance elsewhere and want to upload your documentation.


Step 4: How Do You Accept Payment Cards?

Select:

Online payments (including eCommerce website/shop)

This reflects how ServiceBox Payments processes payments through Paysafe.


Step 5: Pay by Link Question

You will be asked:

"Can your customers make card payments via a Pay by Link solution?"

Answer:

No

Although customers may be redirected to a payment page, this is not considered a Pay by Link solution.


Step 6: How Do Customers Make Online Payments?

Select:

My customers make online payments to my business via a website accessed using a web browser


Step 7: Enter Your Website URL

Enter the URL of your business website.

Example:

https://www.yourcompany.com 

After entering the URL:

  1. Click the + button.
  2. Click Next.

Note: Under PCI DSS 4.0.1, some merchants may be required to complete a non-intrusive website scan.


Step 8: E-Commerce Website Management

You will be asked:

"Is your entire online payments eCommerce website fully managed, operated and maintained by a third party?"

Answer:

Yes

ServiceBox Payments uses Paysafe as the outsourced payment solution provider.


Step 9: Outsourced E-Commerce Service Provider

You will be asked:

"Is your outsourced eCommerce service provider PCI DSS compliant?"

Answer:

Yes

Paysafe is validated as a PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider.


Step 10: ASV Scanning Question

You will be asked:

"Is ASV scanning performed by your ecommerce website provider?"

Answer:

Yes

This requirement is covered under Paysafe's Level 1 Service Provider compliance program.


Step 11: Select Your Payment Gateway

Search for:

Paysafe 

Select:

Paysafe Group (prev. Netbanx)

Then click Next.


Step 12: Payment Gateway PCI Compliance

You will be asked:

"Is your payment gateway/processor PCI DSS compliant?"

Answer:

Yes

Paysafe is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.


Step 13: Cardholder Data Storage Questions

You will be asked two questions:

Question 1

Does anyone in your organization send or receive full card numbers via email or instant messaging?

Answer:

No

Question 2

Does your company otherwise store, transmit or receive cardholder data electronically?

Answer:

No

To remain PCI compliant, you should never store, send, or receive full cardholder data electronically.


Step 14: Complete the Business Summary

The portal will ask you to describe your payment environment.

Include:

  • How you accept payments
  • That payments are processed through Paysafe
  • That Paysafe owns and manages the payment processing environment
  • That your systems are maintained with current security updates
  • Approximate number of employees who process payments

Cardholder Data Handling

All payment card processing is outsourced to Paysafe. Cardholder data is not stored, processed, or transmitted by our organization. 

Environment Description

Payments are processed through Paysafe's PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment platform. We maintain our business systems with current security updates and patches. Access to payment functions is restricted to authorized personnel only. 


Step 15: Complete the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ)

After completing the profile, you'll arrive at the Security Assessment section.

You should only have a small number of remaining questions.


Step 16: Protect Account Data Question

You may see Requirement 3.2.1 related to data retention policies.

Recommended Answer

Select:

N/A

Reason:

Our organization does not store cardholder data. All payment processing is outsourced to Paysafe. 


Step 17: Confirm Compliance

Once all questions are completed:

  1. Open Confirm Your Compliance
  2. Review all sections
  3. Verify company information


Step 18: Verify Contact Information

Review:

  • Contact Name
  • Title
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Business Address

These details will be used on your Attestation of Compliance (AOC).

 


Step 19: Submit Your Attestation

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click:

Confirm Your Attestation


Step 20: PCI Compliance Complete

Once submitted successfully, you'll see a confirmation screen indicating that your organization is PCI compliant for the current year.

Why do I need PCI Compliance?

PCI DSS compliance helps protect cardholder data and is required by card brands and payment processors.

What if I store customer card information?

If you store cardholder data, your PCI requirements may be significantly different and more complex.

Does ServiceBox store payment card information?

No. Payment processing is handled through Paysafe's PCI DSS Level 1 certified environment.

How often do I need to complete PCI Compliance?

PCI compliance must be completed annually.

What happens after I become compliant?

Paysafe may notify you throughout the year if additional actions or reviews are required.
