When managing schedules in ServiceBox, users often need to make adjustments to specific events. A common question arises: Why does changing an event’s user, title, or description affect all future occurrences, even when selecting "Change Just This Event"?
This article explains the reasoning behind that behavior and how to manage changes to recurring events effectively.
Why Does This Happen?
In ServiceBox, recurring events are part of a linked series. When you initially schedule a recurring event for a user, the following attributes are shared across the entire series:

Title
-
Description
These elements are treated as fundamental properties of the event series. Whether you choose to edit just one instance or the entire series, changes to these shared properties will apply to all events in the series.
Not a Bug, It’s by Design
This behavior is intentional. ServiceBox is built to maintain consistency across recurring events. By ensuring that critical details like the assigned user, title, or description remain the same across a series, it prevents potential errors or confusion.
What If You Need to Change Just One Event?
If you want to change only a single event in a recurring series without affecting the others, follow this approach:
Step 1: Delete the Specific Event

Locate the individual event in the Scheduler.

Use the delete option to remove just that instance.
Step 2: Create a New Event

Manually add a new event with the desired user, title, and description.
This process ensures that changes are isolated to the specific event and won’t impact the rest of the recurring series.
